You can create AI images using both KoalaImages and KoalaWriter!

In KoalaWriter you can simply choose the "Auto" or "Images" option for the "AI Images & YouTube Videos" setting:

You can then configure the image model, style, size, and maximum number of images. Please see below for more information on the image styles, image sizes, and to see samples.

Real-Time Source Filtering

Real-Time Source Filtering adds filtering capabilities to our real-time data feature. You can now filter sources based on your specific needs, allowing you to only get data from and cite sources based on your criteria.

Want to only cite domains with a Domain Authority over 80? No problem. What about only gov and edu domains? Yep! Even sources that are only available on Google Scholar such as research papers? Don't worry, we got you ;)

By default, Real-Time Source Filtering uses all of the top-ranking pages in the SERP, and the behavior is the same as before. However, with this new feature, you can now choose to filter sources based on specific criteria.

There are three filtering options available with Real-Time Source Filtering:

Default: This option uses all of the top-ranking pages in the SERP and behaves the same as before.
Scholarly: This option only uses sources available on Google Scholar.
Custom: This option allows you to put in your own search operators.

Using Custom Filtering

To use Custom Filtering, you can put in your own search operators. The only supported operators are site, filetype, and da.

The site operator can be used to specifically include or exclude individual sites or entire TLDs. For example, site:example.com will only include sources from example.com, while -site:example.com will not include sources from example.com.

Model

Before choosing the article type you want to create, you must choose the model you want KoalaWriter to use.

Article Type

Of course, you want to select the Blog Post article type.

Target Keyword

For blog posts, this should be the target keyword you want to rank for. An example would be, "can you eat watermelon seeds?"

If there is a title you want to use, you can also enter that instead, but we recommend entering the target keyword.

Note: The target keyword box is meant to contain just the target keyword. Please do not put additional keywords in it.

With the SEO Optimization feature, we make sure that all articles created with KoalaWriter are SEO-optimized.

How to connect your Koala account to WordPress

One of our recently added features is WordPress Integration.

WordPress Integration

Once an article is complete, this feature allows you to click a single button, and a draft will be created on your WordPress site.

Once you enable the feature, you will be able to see the "Create Draft" button above all your articles on KoalaWriter. It will look like this:

Note: We can't integrate to sites hosted by WordPress.com since they don't support WordPress' built-in Application Passwords.

Application Passwords can't be used to access your WordPress account. There's no need to worry about your website's security.

But if you're still hesitant, you can connect a user profile with only an Author or Editor role. In fact, we highly recommend you do so.

How to use Custom Image Styles in KoalaWriter and KoalaImages

Custom image styles allow you to customize the AI images that are created by KoalaWriter and KoalaChat!

We offer many built-in styles such as illustrations, watercolors, and photos, but if you are looking for further customization then this is for you.

How to Use Custom Image Styles

After you've created a style (see below how to do that), you can easily use it in KoalaImages and KoalaWriter.

Simply choose your custom image style in the Image Style dropdown.

How to Create A Custom Image Style

To create a new image style, go to KoalaWriter and choose "Auto" or "Images" for the AI Images & YouTube Videos settings.

Tips for Creating Custom Image Styles

Please make sure to use English for all fields. The AI image model will understand English best and it uses fewer tokens, meaning it is less likely any part of the prompt will get cut-off.

Troubleshooting WordPress Errors

If you don't see your error below, please email us at hello@koala.sh and provide details about your error.

Note: We can't integrate to sites hosted by WordPress.com since they don't support WordPress' built-in Application Passwords. This is not a bug.

401 Error Code

Error message:

Solutions:

1) Please try adding the integration again using your email address instead of the username. This often fixes the problem 2) If the above does not work, try going to the Permalink settings inside WordPress and clicking Save (without changing anything). This is often needed on brand new websites and is known as permalink flushing 3) If it is still not working, please make sure that you do not have any plugins that might be restricting access to the API

404 Error Code

This is usually caused by entering the incorrect WordPress Site Domain.

For example, if your homepage is example.com then you must put example.com.

If you have a custom login page you still must put example.com. Do not enter the address of your login page.

If WordPress is installed in a subdirectory such as example.com/guides then you should enter example.com/guides as the WordPress Site Domain.

429 or 403 Error Code

This usually happens if your firewall (such as Cloudflare) or your server is blocking our connection.
